I was just curious what you guys thought about the satellite radio? I am considering getting one, but to tell you the truth I just don't know much about it. What are the different systems? Which is the best? I moved out to Colorado from Miami 3 years ago, and I just haven't been happy with the radio stations out here. Of course I do listen to my CDs, but I usually prefer the radio. The best thing would be for me to get a couple of the stations back home on the radio out here, but I know that's not possible. Anyway, thanks for your help guys. I appreciate any and all comments.

I just picked up mine today, I got the install kit for existing stereo's

Simply it is just like reagular radion stations but they are digital and you can listen to the smae station virtually anywhere you are, You can listen to say 99x From Cali to Jersey with no problems

You gotta buy the equipment (same radios have ti already) and you gotta pay to subscribe.. I will tel you how it sounds Saturday after my install is complete here is the website

So you can listen to whatever station you want? Anywhere? I thought you could only listen to a certain number of preset stations.

I've had XM Satellite Radio installed in the Cougar since October 3. With XM Satellite Radio there are 100 channels to choose from. Of those, 71 are music and 29 are news, sports, comedy, etc. Nearly all of the music channels are programmed by DJs in the XM Satellite Radio headquarters in Washington, DC. I have driven thousands of miles across the southeastern United States since I installed it and the only time I lose signal is when I go through the tunnels on I-40 between Asheville, NC and the NC/Tennessee state line.

The music channels are broken up into categories: 1) Decades, 2) Country, 3) Hits, 4) Rock, 5) Urban, 6) Jazz & Blues, 7) Dance, 8) Latin, 9) World and 10) Classical.

The non-music channels are broken up the following categories: 1) Kids, 2) News <Headline News, USA Today, The Weather Channel, etc.>, 3) Sports <ESPN, CNNsi, NASCAR, etc.>, 4) Comedy <uncensored!> and 5) Variety <Discovery, E!, abc newstalk, etc.>.

I hate listening to regular broadcast FM radio for three reasons: signal quality, the amount of commercials compared to the amount of music, and the heavy rotation of the same songs. With XM Satellite Radio, I actually enjoy listening to the radio again, and have stopped carrying my valuable CD collection in the car. It's really awesome!

If any of you see me at a car show, car stereo competition or a cougar event -- please come over and say "Hey!" and I'll make sure you get a chance to listen to the XM Satellite Radio system.

Peace,
Keane
