my cougar had an ATX, so i totalled (http://www.fastcougar.com/forums/messageview.cfm?catid=3&threadid=25498) it.

in case it's not totalled, i need a recommended shop in NoVa. i had trouble with Brown's Lincoln-Mercury in Fairfax last time. if you can help, please post ASAP. i need to tell my insurance where to send it tomorrow (Tuesday). thanks!

I've had luck with Browning's and Superior Auto body in manassas, along with Precision auto body in Manassas. Altho for just fixing a stock car I'd have to say Precision. they did great work on Mike's little bro's car.

nobody other than Heather has liked the body shop they used? i'm considering Suburban Auto Body in Fairfax and Craftsman Auto Body in Chantilly...

So sorry to hear about your car man. Been there and done that. It was no fun at all. Hope everything goes well for you, in court and all? Is the lady attempting to sue you or anything like that? Good luck with a shop. It'll be a while. Ugh brings back painful memories.

Surburban's separate paint shop is the one that painted my Visteon kit (out on Roanoke St., I believe)... Good job. I can't say about their body shop, I've never used it.

Good luck.

thanks, Dan.

Craftsman had a 20-day waiting list, and my dad didn't like the "customer service" he received at Suburban. i ended up going with Auto Body of Vienna. all these shops were rated as doing quality work at a fair price according to Washington Consumers Checkbook (http://www.checkbook.org), which is like Consumers' Reports for this area. until the appraisal is done, i won't know if i get the cougar back or not...
