OK, well im new to the whole fixing up your car thing..so this question has prob been asked before..and i apologize in advance....Is buying an intake worth it? I mean Ive seen ppl who have made thiers and they seem to work just fine? Are there additional perks to buying one as opposed to making one? Again, sorry for the hassle, but any help would be appreciated. And if anyone sees something in the search that I didn't please let me know....

Well keep in mind with everything you do buy there's always the value of the name to say the least. One reason mine costs more is because of the name associated with it...but it was a trusted company in my belief so worth it.

Best bet to decide whatcha want is to set a price limit on yourself. How much do you wanna spend on an intake?? You can fabricate your own i'm sure, but it never hurts to support your favorite tuning companies.

Do you know where you want to head in regards to performance???

Girlie, like teflon said its best to lay out a plan for how much money you can and want to spend on the car. I had a homemade intake first which was good for the money I spent on it, then I went to the WeaponR intake which i thought personally sucked ass and thought my homemade was alot better now I have the Iceman which I think is worth every penny I spent on it(roughly $150) and is way better than the homemade.

If you have AOL instant messanger hit me up sometime I'll help you out with all your questions. My aim name is: MZx2Md

As I've tried to do here, I'll do my best to answer all da question you have. I'm only later on in the afternoon, like around 5pm or so.

Well, to be quite honest, I really only want the basics in peroformance. When I went looking for my ZX2 I actaully wanted a ZX2 s/r but no one had any at the time. I wanted the s/r because of the performance parts it comes with stock....iceman intake, b&m short shifter, exhaust system. So thats basically all im goin for. Now I know someone that can get the exhaust for me (he makes them) but that other things I wasnt sure of. I want an intake but it doesnt have to be the iceman namebrand. I just want a nice lookin car and has some balls behind it lol!

So would you say that you're looking to do an intake, exhaust, and possibly headers on your car??

They make zx2 headers correct???

If you got the hook up on your exhaust you're donig pretty well already....now for the intake...what were you thinking of spending on it by chance??? Chances are intakes usually ru from $100 to $200 depending on whatcha lookin for.

Another source you might try to talk with fastcougar (Trevor) he's got some plans lined up for his scort and has been doing crazy research on that matter

Well, heres the cool thing. I gots me a friend you works in a performance shop..so he can hook me up if they carry what I need. But id say about $150-200 is what Id like to spend on a intake. And yes Id get headers too if they make them...Im gonna have to look into that!

Intake wise I would stay stick with Iceman (http://www.zxtuner.com), CTA Intake (http://www.ctamotorsports.com), or maybe the WeaponR (http://www.weapon-r.com)

Header wise it would depend on whether or not you want to keep the Cat or not. If you wanna go with no cat I would say Kamikaze header (http://www.scracing.net) or Gude header (http://www.gude.com) or if you want to keep your cat go with JBA headers (http://www.jbaheaders.com)

For lowering springs I recommend going with Progress springs from Ptuning.com (http://www.ptuning.com)

For anything else check out ZX2 store (http://www.zxtuner.com)

yes, i just sold me wepaon r and bought an iceman, its not here yet, but my modified stock intake that i put back on feels the same or even a bit better than the weapon r. i also have a ceramic coated kamikaze header on the way, which will eliminate my cat. with the iceman, kamikaze, 2.25" catback w/ dynomax bullet, af/x udp, and iat/ect i hope to be atleast mid 15s. get me on AIM sumtime: Ricekillur
