Anyone know where I can find DETAILED instructions on how to install new gauge faces? I got the new white ones from James, but don't want to tear into my dash without knowing EXACTLY what I'm doing. I need COMPLETE instructions from start to finish, so I don't screw this up! If you can help, I'd be extremely grateful!
Thanks,
Charles

Yes...

if you never took apart your dash you will need this dash removal (http://www.fastcougar.com/forums/messageview.cfm?catid=14&threadid=12879&highlight_key=y&keyword1=dash&keyword2=remove)

as far as the gauges themselves go here if you are afraid to just wing it... Click on INSTALLATION (http://www.blackcatcustom.com/store.htm)

once you get that done put the car in diagnostic mode and then drive around and adjust the needles until you get the MPH and TACH reading absolutely perfect to the digital display...

ALSO... make sure your car is completely full with gas.... you need it on F.... ;)

any major problems PM or E-mail me.... I've done this twice now... its tedious and time consuming but easy

Crispy,
"It's tedious & time consuming, but EASY"???
I'm glad you think so! I was looking forward to having the gauges installed untill I read that post! Looks like an entire day affair! Do you REALLY have to take out all that crap just to get to the guages? Jeez!
BTW, Thanks for your help (I think)!
hehe!
Thanks,
Charles

yes you do... there is no way around that.... sorry.... :) it shouldn't be an all day project.... but to be safe allow yourseld 3 or 4 hours..... if your lucky you can get everything calibrated on the first try and maybe do it within an hour or two...

Just remember not to fear modding... ;)

Or going in "the back door", don't fear that either.

Oh yea....and the reaper....don't fear the reaper.

Crispy, about the calibration. This is going to sound really stupid.... I assume you pretty much leave the dash apart while you are fixing the needles, just hook up the wires and drive around to set them. Right?
