(This is a copy of my post in the thread "whoever is planning...Hot Import Nights" - I thought a NEW thread would be better)
OK People!! We have 6 days (5 now) to get our $h!t together and figure out who/when/where to meet for HIN!!
IF Tampa and Orlando people want to meet somewhere along the way and drive down together, I think the only LOGICAL place would be Yeehaw Junction (where SR 60 meets the FL Turnpike - about 100 miles east of downtown Tampa). This is actually a very feasible way to go from Tampa even if not meeting Orlando, 50/50 on that or taking 75/Alligator Alley.
It will take Tampa about 2 to 2.5 hours to get to Yeehaw Junction and then another 2 hours to get to Ft. Lauderdale. I would think we would want to meet at Yeehaw around 2pm?? Any reason to get there(Lauderdale) earlier than 4 or so? Let me/everyone else know.
Lets start seeing some real ideas and thoughts here. Figure out what time you want to get there so we are all not just guessing anymore. Feel free to email me or PM me. I will be glad to kinda be the organizer for the Tampa group, I would think Murphy will handle Orlando. Murphy, let me kow what you and your people are thinking.

I am planning on going...as long as there will be a good turn out of NECO members. But we need to get our **** together. (for the record "****" is not censored)
RiceKiller was saying that the ZX2 guys are getting together before the show, maybe we can all hook up at the same place. I can find out where, if anybody wants me to.
Either way, if the show starts at 6, maybe we should pick a spot to all meet prior...maybe around 3-4ish.
You can count Nola in too, I just got off the phone with him. :)

Fett, you probably know the area better than any of us central florida guys do. Do you have any suggestions on a convenient, easy to find location for all of us to meet not far from the convention center? Maybe around 4:30-5pm?
If anyone from Orlando is going we can meet at the Florida Mall at noon on saturday. If anyone from Tampa wants to cruise over here friday and spend the night, we can all leave together from Orlando on saturday, otherwise, all of us meeting at Yeehaw Junction at 2pm sounds like a very good idea.

hey i am new to the club but i live 5 minutes from the convention center if you guys need meto tell you directions on how to get to a meeting spot let me know..... cant wait to see what its like....

Yea, I really don't know what is around the CC. We are looking for a place to all meet up, around 4pm. I guess we are looking for a good spot to chit chat, get to know one another, and view the Cougars....at least that is what I am looking for. :)

Hey guys,
I just got info from HIN so i cant meet up with you early cause i gotta prep my car before the show. Me and Steve are gonna go in early at around 3 and the show open to everyone at 6. So ill see you guys there. Sorry i cant meet up early :( But im sure ill see you in the show.

OK!!! It looks like Yeehaw Junction at 2 pm is the meeting time for Orlando and Tampa (and any others are welcome of course). I am not sure what is at that Turnpike Exit, but i am sure there is a couple gas stations and food at the corner of 441 and SR 60 (which is JUST West of the Turnpike on SR 60). Shall we say a McDonalds/Burger King as our first 2 choices, and if there isnt either of them then AMOCO/Mobile/Shell/BP as the next order of spots? Am i making this too confusing and anal?
Tampa Members: WHO IS GOING??? Where do you want to meet here in town to head out? How about Best Buy in Brandon (SR 60 across from Brandon Town Center). We need to leave about 11:30 so meet there about 11 or so. Leave msgs here or email me at pinhy@tampabay.rr.com

If you are familiar with the Convention Center could you recommend any places nearby that would be convenient for about a dozen cougars to meet at around 4 - 4:30 (maybe a shopping center or something)?

OK ....IF EVERYONE IS TAKING THE TURPIKE OR I 95 WHAT EVER YOU ARE TAKNG TAKE IT TO "595" AND GO WEST TO UNIVERSIY GET OFF 595 AND GO SOUTH ON YOUR RIGHT HAND SIDE IS KMART THERE IS A HUGE PARKING LOT THERE......THEN WHEN YOU GUYS ARE REAY TO GO TO TH SHOW ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS HOP BACK ON 595 AND G STRAIGHT DWN TO THE BROWAD CONVENTION CENTER.....IF THIS IS WHAT YOU WANT TO DO LET ME KNOW AND ILL GIVE SOME ONE MY CELL NUMBER IN CASE ANYONEETS LOT ......HOPE THIS HELPS SOME

It ends at 1am, but you don't have to stay the entire time. I will probably be spending the night.

If you mean Mike from Tampa, no....if you mean Mike from Orlando, dont know, Murphy should though. doesnt look like many Tampa people are going as of right now.
I think arriving in Lauderdale about 430-5 is about right? Murphy seemed to say about then would be good. Hard to say when we have as far to go as we do and organizing 6 cars or so to meet as far away as we are (tampa and orlando groups). sounds like we will have a good showing total once we get to Ft. Laud. looking forward to it.

Mike Perez will not be going to HIN, he works saturday and he is staying for a local show. I do have plenty of extra fliers, probably enough for everyone.
If you guys want to stay overnight we could split the cost of a hotel room, I already have reservations and wouldn't mind at all.
So is this parking lot the official "meeting" place?

that Kmart sounds good to me...but i dont know a damn thing about lauderdale either so anything would sound good.
as of right now i am the only tampa member going...noone has any money here, whats the deal? so i will be at yeehaw around 130-2.

Hey everyone, I am a new member, I am going to be at the show and want to meet up, BADCAT...I am in miami by dadeland mall. So if anyone needs directions from my area to the K-mart or wherever, I will be glad to help. I'll keep checking the boards.

Murphy so noon at florida mall for orlando members??? where in the parking lot cause it's one big lot, also whats the head count on orlando ppl??? also what's the route we will be taking???

Noon at the Florida Mall Food Court parking lot. Try to get there around 11:45 so maybe we can be on the road by noon. I'm not exactly sure how long it will take to get to Yeehaw Junction to meet Pinhy. But we will be taking the Turnpike all the way to the Junction, then after the three of us are together we will continue on the turnpike until it runs into 95 south, and we'll take 95 all the way to Ft. Lauderdale. I think 95 is closer to where we are meeting than the turnpike is. As far as I know, you, Pinhy and I are the only Central Fl cats going, hopefully there will be a good turnout from the south Florida group. Should be interesting, 3 yellow cougars cruising to Miami...look out!
edit: Just got word that Mike C. (Tsunami) from Tampa might be coming also!
What is the head count at this point? From the looks of things it seems to be around six. Just curious.
Nola and I will be at K-Mart around 4-4:30. I just got off the phone with him, we are driving together, so his car won't be there. He says that his is stock (aside from blue neon interior bulbs and a Quicksilver sticker on the rear glass), but I will take a black stock Cougar over most other car on the road...simply the BEST looking car. :)

u guys are all gone by now im assuming, but i live outside of fort lauderdale and im going with 2 of my friends (in one of their cars). Ill say hi if i see you inside wearing a NECO shirt.
Go to the K-Mart parking lot for the meet, Chief. :)
