I was given some info by chezterr about the lower intake injectors. i spoke to Eric at BAT and he said that the 19lb injectors should pose no problem when installed instead of the stock 17lb ones. he said as long as i didnt change the chip, and made sure i reset the battery it should adjust air up and at the same time not necessarily inject 19 lbs of fuel just becuase it can. i am now asking, what have any of you experienced regaridng this issue? my other engine mods are bosch +4 plugs, yodude ypipe, hi flow cat, yodude dual exhaust, injen intake. what do u guys think before i do this? am i going to be ok with the 19lb injectors? should i get a marger MAF? whats the deal?
thanks

Do you have a return or returnless fuel system?

its returnless, thats the only way the lower from BAT will work

Wrong ... the lower from Bat will work on all year Cougars, but it is believed by many and confirmed by few that the SVT lower comes standard on Returnless Cougars (produced on or after 5/3/99)

the svt lower from bat only has the inlet for fuel, it has no exit line for fuel, therefore it will only work on returnless vehicles. thats not the issue im concerned with, i am concerned with detonation from the larger injectors.

That is only the fuel rail ... they are identicle except for that instance ... return have two lines and returnless has one, otherwise they are the same. The fuel rail is a seperate item from the LIM. The lower will work with all cars, but the fuel rail that you currently have will be the same as the one you are getting ... according to some, so is the LIM. I would get a good dial caliper and measure the ports of both. If they are the same, sell the new one as it will do you no good. Do however keep the injectors, which alone are worth the price of the LIM setup you got.

and I was checking because word has it, the electrical connectors for return fuel cars won't fit the injectors for the returnless ones. Not an issue for you, but I do have a feeling you are going to find both your lowers to be the same size.
you guys are talking too fast, I can't keep up, hehe.

Yes, I believe so too. The Lowers will be the same as will the fuel rail ... only thing that will differ will be the injectors, and maybe they will be the same as well. WE WANT PICTURES of this!

Yes, I would love to see a side by side example of the two different injector styles.

ok so heres what i am going to do, once i am ready to do this this weekend, i will pull off the upper and use a caliper and measure the bores, if the bores are the same, i can keep the lower on there. should i install the 19lb injectors? will that cause any problems? and yes i will take pictures documenting everything for you guys.

I'm not sure, here's one guy's thoughts from the Contour board: 19#ers (http://www.contour.org/cgi-ubb/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&f=6&t=003614)

Yes, be sure to unplug the battery after killing the fuel pump and before you start pulling things apart and everything should be fine.
