shifter upgrades?

hi i'm new here :)
anyway, i have been experiencing some rather "crappy" shifting feels in my 99 cougar. i know of shifter upgrades for the t-5 and tri-ax shifters in some mustangs, but i am unaware of any for a cougar. heck i don't even know what transmission i have :) its a 5spd if anybody would like to tell me

The tranny is an MTX75 ...and to be honest, I foten dislike the shifting, especially when he car is cold. Some say that a tranny fluid change will help shifting improve greatly. That's just an option...and not an expensive one.

Or B&M makes a short throw shifter...After I installed it, I noticed no difference...but it is shorter...not much in my feel...though others say it feels mich shorter...I guess it's my long arms...
