ANYONE know what the "new" Aerogear fenders will look like??? [Archive]

I have heard that Aerogear will be producing a new design of fenders for our Cougars. Does anyone have any idea what they will look like? I have a suspicion that they will resemble the "M Roadster" fenders. (If anyone doesn't know what that is, look at the "M" version of the Z-3 BMW roadster...it is a elipitcal fender vent with a CHROME stylized line bisecting it.) Has anyone else heard about these new fenders, and when they may become available? I like the current "Z-3" fenders, but as these have become more & more popular, I would like to get something new. Any input would be terrific. Thanks all.

Probably the "Dragon" style fenders they have available for other cars. Basically a huge beveled hole in the side (around the area our sidemarkers are in)

That's what I thought Gunmetal. But Chromacougar says that those aren't the ones that are going to be coming out.

Well, Chroma is going to be here in town with me tomorrow, (Saturday) so I guess I'll ask him about it. Keep the posts coming though...must be someone who's got the "inside scoop"!

Lots of people have the inside scoop-but don't expect to see the truth until SEMA. Lotsa people will be in trouble if the details of the kits and fenders is leaked out. I'm sure the company making everything doesn't want 100 calls a day from us about their new stuff.

If I had to guess...I'd say they might continue the BMW trend and go with the z8 fenders.

A very select few know what these fenders look like....

You all will be very surprised when they are released.... No one will see this fender coming. Availability will not be till Next year if that. Unlike Carbon Fiber hoods, there is no ETA on these fenders.

The delay on the hoods is due to the difficulty of keeping the carbon weave intact in all of the vents. That was a concearn of mine when I recieved my fiberglass hood. I would not be surpised if Aerogear designs a new hood that will be offered in carbon without the vents. Right now the new projects are not in the critical stage yet anyways as the show season is over and the companies will look back at the 2001 season and what parts were really hot and build on their success. Come feb and march we'll see a whole new lineup of parts put out to the sport compact market so everyone just be patient and save up some $$$ for next season. If I get any new public news on the hoods I'll pass it along to the board.

Craig, I did see a new hood in Aerogear's booth. I will ask Sandy if I can snap a picture and show it to everyone. Right now it is simply for hondas.

whats the word on the Fenders??? are they the Dragon Fenders??? Can you tell someone that Crispy wants the Cobra Hood to be available for the Cougar instead of just the Focus please..!!

I researched Cervini's products and they make the Mach 5 hood for the Focus, which is nice but not the Cobra Hood that Nopi sells... do you know what manufacter makes this one? I did snap a picture of the new hoods... They are not very special and don't allow air in the engine bay. Its the techno that is involved in making them that interests me the most. The show cars on NECO will want to have this... Will hope to have my pictures developed by next friday. I am still in Cali.

hey I'm just bumpin this to see if Rockford or Street Concepts know who the maker is for that Cobra Hood... I don't think you answered my question Chroma or did you? When you say new hoods are you talking about both of these or some new hoods that are available for the Cougar?

here is the Dragon Hood.... its available for imports only right now... there are matching Dragon Fenders in all the Nopi ads as well but there are no applications listed yet.... I like this TONS more than the Black Widow hood.....

I have no idea who makes that hood... and I can say that its NOT Aerogear. I too dont think it matches the coug that well.

If you want a hood, the Predator hood is for sale at a GREAT price right now... check the For Sale section.

However if your bent on gettin a new style, go to Cervini's about their "Z3" hood that houses gauges!

All Aerogear producs are made with a baby blue pigment... that is how you know if its Aerogear or Not... Research the company Haun! I think that is how you spell it... that is who makes the Dragon Stuff.

yeah I agree on the Dragon Hood.... its sorta cool and all but wouldn't match well with the Coug... I am very hell bent on finding more info out on that Cobra hood though.... thats sweet...
