if i get a exhaust for a 6 cyl cougar and put it on my 4 cyl

i know that it will work , but will i get the performance out of it. becuase i emailed borla and they didnt get back to me and that was like 3 weeks ago. becuase i was looking at a borla cat back system and this was the only one i could find(6 cyl only) so i wanted to know if it will work well and add some hp's
