I will be taking our 99 mtx in for the last service before I hit 36,000 miles next week. Any areas I should have checked? I already have a 4 or 5 item list. Chassis squeak, radio face plate not making contact causing radio to shut off, adjust cruise control to shut off with lighter pressure on the brake pedal, rear hatch release.

have them test the voltage regulator on the alternator at high rpms.

good luck getting everything fixed....i know if it was my dealership this is what would happen:

Me: "My chassis squeaks alot."
Service Dude: "Ahhh...so what? You expect me to fix that?"

A conversation along these lines would continue for some time...

anyways, as far as your hatch is concerned, I have the same thing fixed at every oil change....all they ever do is "adjust" something....don't let them adjust ANYTHING...tell them you want a new latch mechanism or something...that's what i'm going to do next time, because i'm fed up with their nonsense.

Have them check the sunroof if you have one.
also, check the list of TSBs HERE (http://www.nhtsa.dot.gov/cars/problems/tsb) for anything that rings a bell

I'm in the same boat. 60,000 kms in Canada is the end of warrenty and with all the sunroof probs and my warrenty being almost up I had a VERY close look at my sun roof. And guess what there is a metal piece broken in it. Right at the front where it looks like an aluminum piece comes through a hole in a piece of black metal. That black metal is broken on the drivers side. I had them look at it. The guys were good they said that they will order the part and get it repaired. I was thinking "Until you find out you can't order that one part then you will jerk me around" But the guy even smiled and said that he wouldn't be surprized if they have to order the whole assembly. So we will see.
My advice if you have a sunroof look at it extremely close to make sure it is ok. Even listen to it to see if it making noise now when it didn't when you first bought it.
