I'll be handing my car off to a body shop (any good ones close to me?) and get the stuff painted (and my front bumper repaired). Looking forward to the big debut!

Only body shop I deal with is my local one but thats a hike from you... congradulations... I know since we first talked you wanted that kit

If everyone remembers that scuff on my front bumper (from where that Contour jumped out and accosted my poor Cougar... ;)), between that and getting the GFX painted, Brown Lincoln Mercury in Fairfax wanted....
$762.00!!!
I laughed at the guy. He was still bitter at me when I had them paint my taillight covers and Razzi wing- Told me flat out he was not thrilled about painting the stuff and wouldn't warrant the work at all.
I left, very bitter.
I have an appointment with a local, lower-budget body shop today to see if they can paint just the GFX for me... I wanted to have them on before we leave for CougarFest in a weeks' time, but that looks like that may not happen.

Yeah. When I had my coug in at Brown's they flat-out said, "No," to any body kit installation and/or painting. Silly thing is that they sell some cougars with the Visteon kit, so they would theoretically have to provide bodyshop work for them, right? Tell me with whom you end up having your kit painted. I'm still deciding whether to hold out for stoffler or just get the WW. I can hold out for a long time when it comes to spending money! ;)

Update:
There's a body shop in Fairfax on Campbell Rd. (associated with Suburban Auto Body right next to BLM) who is hooking me up for $300 painted. Should be ready by Monday (or so he said), so I'm going out on a limb and trying someone new for a paint job. We'll see... Hope to have the kit installed before the ever-so-large Capital NECO caravan leaves for Michigan.
WTF? Heather and me? What kind of a caravan is that?!

Sorry to hear that, but my car is in the shop for the transmission for the third time in two months! If Level10 had their act together I'd tell them to just rip it out so I could buy a "bulletproof" trans.
I gotta work Thursday so I will miss the caravan:( I WILL be there for show day though:) When are you guys leaving Michigan?

Sometime on Sunday, preferably early enough to get back to DC at a "reasonable" hour. I'm still having radio issues, so I may take Heather up on her offer to let me borrow her (er... Trevor's) headunit for the trip.

Dan...we should have taken pics of your car. :) the GFX kick ass. watch out for those speed bumps> :)
