The only thing I have going on with my Coug is the squeaks, rattles, etc that seem to be coming from the back of the car.

Seems like the inside cover that fits under the hatchback door is somewhat loose, so I tightened the plastic fasteners with paper clips and stuffed some newspaper between the cover the hatchback door.

Seems to help, but I still hear the sounds. They might be coming from somewhere else, but I cannot isolate them.

If anyone has ever had the same problems and found solutions, please let me know how you got the problem fixed.

I would hate to take it to the dealer only to have them tell me that they could not duplicate the problem.

I feel I could fix it myself in much less time than the dealer could do.

Thanks in advance for your responses.

check your interior trim for the rear seats. (about where the arm-rests are. They are formed/molded with styrofoam type stuff that rubs against the metal of the car. You can remove the trim and cut away some of the foam. That is probably where the squeek is coming from.

Also, your hatch may be out of alignment. Causes a rattle at the latch.

your best bet is to fold down the rear seats and drive around with someone who can listen and pinpoint the exact locations of the squeaks... this way here you aren't playing the guessing game.
