i drove a friend's TT Coupe today...and it was SWEET. they have TWO TT's...one is the Coupe...one is the Roadster. i drove the hardtop/coupe. very nice car. it's a 1.8L turbo w/ 225HP, 6-speed MTX.

specs from audi:

1.8 T quattro (165 kW)
Max. torque at min-1 280/2200-5500
Wheels: 7J X 16 cast aluminium
Tires: 225/45 R 17
Luggage capacity: 220/490
Max. speed: 243 km/h
Acceleration 0-100: 6,4 seconds

after driving this, i would never (except for fun) try to beat one of these things...assuming the driver is competent. it's power came on very quickly, with very little reving needed (around 2500 and it MOVES).

Thats what my mother is getting I guess in a year from Germany for $30K...lol My father is getting a 330I BMW fully loaded for $30K too then.

Those cars are so much more cheaper there then here and you get better quality and a lot of times more HP.

yes, it's a nice car...but i don't think the price is worth it. the one i drove cost $55K, and that is not good considering you can get a new corvette Z06 for around $45K or so.

modette, i hope you guys know you cant register an out of country vehicle here without certs from the EPA and DMV and its gotta have all the safety and emissions standards that we have, i spent 3 years in germany from 90-92 and their cars are MUCH more below our standards of safety and emissions.

i copied the stats off the audi website...check it for yourself. whatever the right numbers are, i'm pretty sure it's a 1.8L turbo w/ 225hp.

i can find out again what they paid, but i'm pretty sure it was 55K. i won't argue if they got screwed...i'm sure they did. they got it when it first came out, so it was above sticker.

MPRTKLR they have European Delivery for BMW's at least, where they will hand you the keys at the Factory in Munich, and you can tool around Europe for a little while.....then THEY pick up the tab to send it back over here....and it is already built to US specs, so its all gravy baby:)

Then why does anyone buy one here in the states for 10k above that? My aunt bought one in Germany and had it there for 2 years and moved back here... but I didn't think they got that great of a deal, I know they got some off though... just a thought..
