Hello Everyone, I did the brakes not to long ago in my 00 I4, about 1500 miles ago. Last night i was going about 55 when i noticed a smell like something cooking, so i didnt think much of it b/c of the POS that was in front of me, spitting smoke and stuff, but then i went to race a CL Type S, doing about 65 - 70 smelled again, when i came up to the light, i did a nice slow slowdown and application of brakes, when i stopped i saw smoke coming from my back brakes (Drums) and all my brakes were hotter than hell itself and my brake pedal was feeling a little mushy, any suggestions, ideas, possible solutions. Help Me Please!. Thanks Everyone
On my old Nissan Pulsar i purchased some very cheap brakes for about $12.00 a set. Smoke would roll out from my wheels when i did a fast hard stop or ran hard. And after a couple of hard stops i couldn't stop at all. I found out i hadn't bought semi-metallic like the car needed. I replaced them with semi and that cured the smoke and stopping but i ended up replacing rotors soon... i assumed it was because of the wrong brakes.
Hope that helps.

Your emergency brake wasn't on, was it? Just kidding. I just had to bring that up because I drove about a mile with mine on (the brake light wasn't on though, interestingly enough) and my rear brakes were smoking. My friend that my car was on fire. Ooops. :flushed:
