Upstate New York

Are there any events/shows scheduled for this summer in Upstate New York. I recently bought my '01 Cougar, and I would like to see what is possible for my car. I live in Watkins Glen, NY, which is somewhere between Central and Western NYS.

Hi, welcome aboard... I guess you saw the message I posted for upstate NY... Some members are interested in a meeting. So when I arrive in the US we can try to make a meet all together perhaps. Would be great to meet even more Cougar owners.

Thanks for the reply. I did see your original posting, but I was not sure where you would be meeting in NY. I would very interested in meeting some fellow NECO members, and seeing their cars, but I need to know when and where.... Please keep me in the loop for this summer's meeting. Thank you.

Well Watkins Glen is still quite a ways from Poughkeepsie/Fishkill area. (about 4 hrs I believe) We're really not upstate (NYC calls us upstate, but we're still only about 1 hr north of them)

I'd love to have a meet at Watkins Glen. It's a little over 3 hours for me to drive there. There always seems to be meets on the east side of the Hudson River because of Mass. and those other states. I think it's about time to have something a little more central in NY. Watkins Glen could also bring in people from PA since that is just down the highway a little.

If we were to have a meet in Watkins Glen I would highly suggest a few things. First off, the meet should be on a weekend that WGI (http://www.theglen.com) (Watkins Glen Internation) is holding races/events. I think that the track would be a perfect backdrop for a meet. Also, summer weekends in Watkins are often difficult to find lodging (http://watkinsglen.com). There are hotels, and parks to camp at, but they often go fast. My suggestion: Watkins Glen would be a great place for a meet, but we should make plans fast.
