Doomsday Scenario

I'm really in need of good conversation / a distraction, so lets see how this goes.

Thinking about a few posts recently got me wondering: If you had to pick one doomsday scenario to happen on earth, what would it be?

Machines taking over like the Terminator films? Viral accident which causes the infected to become zombies like in Resident Evil? Nuclear disaster / radiation causing mutations? Meteor impact? 1984 scenario? a scenario like the videogame 'Doom'?

More over, how would you deal with it, or what would you do to survive.
Granted, in reality, with my examples you would probably have NO warning, but, what if you had like 24hrs?

Personally, I would NOT want the machines... being a huge fan of the Terminator story, it would really be a pain in the ass dealing with that ****, plus all the running would piss me off!

Same with the zombies, there are just some people I know, that if I saw them as zombies, I would seriously break down crying, and probably get myself killed.


Providing I was equipped, I would love to witness the 'Doom' scenario... Its probably my favorite storyline along with the Terminator one.
For those unfamiliar, basically, scientists experimenting with teleportation 'accidently' open a gateway to what could only be considered 'hell' itself, though its just the name and has no bearing on the religious views of hell. So anyway, things start coming through and so begins the fight.

I could go on for hours about it, and I could also rant about how "the movie" butchered it, but thats another topic entirely.

I dont know I think realitly wise it would be some huge Nucular thing.. If it was zombies I would be one of the first to get screwed.. bit by a patient in the back of an ambulance lol, that would suck.

I would like to have some sort of fighting chance like in Terminator, plus thats one of my favorite movies.

If not, I think something like separating atoms would be the ****. Maybe something real sudden just wipes out the population instantly.

In reality, I really think that Mother Nature is going to "bite back" so-to-speak. It's obvious that the human population is WAYYYY too high and nature has a way of dealing with populations that are too high. So, I believe that there is going to be some sort of super-contagious virus that will wipe out a huge percentage of the population.

ZOMBIE/INFECTED APOCALYPSE!!!

I've been preparing for one and I've done all my research. I think I could handle it. I would prefer Resident Evil style, slow zombies opposed to 28 Days Later fast running infected!

I'm a huge Doomsday anything type fan.

I've also imagined myself taking on hordes of zombies for years. I'd like to be able to live out the days on a tropical island within sight of a mainland with a .50 cal sniper rifle, and crates of ammo, to pass the time.

Obviously impossible, living in Canada and all. Realistically I'd head up to Edmonton and live in West Edmonton Mall and live on the Santa Maria replica with the Plank up.

Once the mall was fortified, it has everything you need for years, including entertainment.

Indy Go-carts,
Mini golf,

Plenty of sniping positions. Yes this mall would end up being all mine as I am prepared for what would have to happen, I know where to steal the guns and I could steal a plane to fly wherever I would need to. Although stealing the Viper across the street would be fun too.

As for the Terminator Plot. What could you do? I'd probably just grab a ghettoblaster, crank some G'N'R and cruise.

Eventually, I imagine, I would get board, looking out the window, and realize the zombies were having much more fun, and let them bite me. If nothing else, it would be one sure way to achieve some sort of afterlife. It would just suck dealing with human survivors.

As far as the Terminator thing. I would hope people would just let them take over. They are more advanced, so in the long run, they would probably have the world running much better than it is now.

If by chance we are ever invaded by the Iron Jaw Purple Poop Nuggets, there is no chance of escape or coexistence.

Zombies don't need to breathe either, so they could just walk underwater until they got to the next shore. May take a few days, may take a few decades, but if one of them wandered into the water, they'd get there eventually.

Ive been praying for zombies. I live in a perfectly defensible apartment (one entrance, and nothing but a stairwell up after the front door, which is quite heavy to begin with). I have plenty of guns, live with 2 other infantry Marines, and we have enough ammo to get us along for a good while. There's a convenience store a block away to raid for an ample supply of food.

Either that, or a scenario similar to the book "Footprints of Thunder", in which the prehistoric world began merging with the modern one and dinosaurs were running amok. That'd be fun.

Haha thats awesome! lol we just use bear spray too none of this pepper spray stuff.. If I hear a zombie attack the beard is coming out.
