On a side note, today is the birthday of a really good friend of mine, also a Marine (got out 2 years after I was born though).

There's something really ironic about all the road closings going on around here for the memorial. Like, not even the attack closed those roads.

It sucks that they still have yet to build anything there. All the bickering over it is stupid.

I honestly think they should've just rebuilt a modern version of the same towers at this point.

Unfortunately, war had NOTHING to do with 9/11.

Well it kind of did. It allowed the government to play on emotions and not provide all the facts of proof that Irag had weapons. Mainly cause after that happened a lot of Americans wanted to get revenge so they were amped for any reason for war pretty much. So they played the initial emotion of the people. At least thats how it seemed to me.

edit: but you are correct politcal reasons for the war didnt have anything to do with the attacks.

All that aside, I'm still not going to forgive the murderous assholes that took innocent lives. Take your bull**** elsewhere.

What the **** is your damage kid? Not everyone has to conform to your views, especially about an event like this. Who the **** are you to tell someone how to feel or react to something? Maybe its you who should take YOUR bull**** elsewhere.

Yeah, I had heard they were going to make a huge US flag to cover the crash area back then, but I don't recall any news on that ever happening.
Even if it were only a temporary memorial, that still would have been pretty moving to see something like that done up.
Kinda like some of Christo's works.

From someone who saw the aircraft hit the towers, and them fall only miles from me... I will definitely never forget, or forgive for that day...

It's also my lil sisters birthday :)

HELL. NO.

Do I need to remind you that those bastards killed 3,000 innocent civilians? Doctors like you, DJ's like Wade, normal people like me, Paramedics like my Dad, women, children, etc. They didn't care who they killed, all they cared about was how many people they took down.

Like Hell I will ever "forgive" those bastards.

Talk about Iraq somewhere else, this isn't the topic. I'm talking directly about the Al Qaeda assholes who flew those planes into those buildings and those who supported their actions. They can kiss my American ass while our boys in the military send a Stinger missile up theirs.

They've cleaned the area and have the simplest indications of a buildings foundation being constructed. There's a whole lot of politics behind why it hasn't gone past that in several years.

Trump was right. They should've just rebuilt them exactly as they were. To show them & the world they're not going to scare us and they're not going to change our skyline. Put aside differences, come together for once and show them how strong the American people are.

im getting technical since you said they have YET to build anything. Also they are past building foundations and have done ALOT considering what had to be done to get ready for what they are building. Due to the anniversary though, work progress has slowed.

Initial construction only took 6 years from groundbreaking until tenants started moving in.
