After car washes, the headlights (sometimes both, sometimes just one) are all foggy on the inside.. or rather, there are many small 'bubbles' on the inside of the headlight glass.

It lasts for a few days too... any way to prevent this?

My mechanic suggested he could drill a tiny hole somewhere in the headlight to allow moisture to escape, but I said no as I would assume that would also let moisture in.

well first off they are not sealed right since the black rubber thingy on the back of the headlights are junk.

If your getting bubbles inside your lights I would re-seal them with some high temp silicone this link will also help if you want to clean them.

I dont need to clean them, they are pretty clean, I guess its just the seal.

I notice that the rubber does not even cover all of the crevices.
How should I get this fixed without having to remove the headlights?

you do have to remove them and if you dont have a heat gun or dont wanna blow away for hours tring to seal with a blow drier, you gotta bake them in the oven, there a how to on this in the how-to section.

you can get a heat gun for like $20, make sure the caps on the back of the headlights are in place good

Better word to describe my problem is condensation...
I read that taking the backs from the headlights will work as it will let the headlights vent... any negatives to that?

Taking the backs off will let the condensation evaporate.

But long term it's better to fix the seals, and keep it from happening in the first place, else you face the possibility of corrosion of the electrical connectors, and discoloration / dirt of the inside of the housing.
