So,
I bought my cougar about 2 months ago, and I love it.
I've had a couple problems with the engine I need to replace the IMRC I'm guessing it got hot on the 200 mile drive in 105 degree weather. with no shade... hot highway dangit.
Anyways, I Look at all your cats, and i feel quite jealous. I'm just not sure where to start. I'm on a pretty tight buget and its gonna take some time to get things replaced but where would you guy's start?

I'd start with this thread and go from there.

As was suggested in that cheap mods thread, definitely start out with a thorough wash and wax. There is nothing more satisfying than a brilliantly clean car, regardless of what mods you have.
Vacuum the heck out of the interior, dust the dash, and get leather cleaner and conditioner and go to town.
If you've got stains on the carpets, I've had good luck with Prestone automotive carpet stain remover. The can comes with a handy brush to really scrub out those stains.
Claybar the exterior. If you plan on keeping the wheels, take them off and claybar those too. You will be amazed at the results. Don't forget to wax the wheels afterward too. The wheels need just as much love as the body.

Before jumping into mods, i`d reccomend with other stuff: changing the pads and rotors, the brake fluid feed lines, test for the ABS sensors, wheel bearings, joints, balancing and cleaning everything, you need to make sure that everythings solid. Then, check and topup the tranny oil if necesary, change the oil and filters on the engine, check the water pump belt and auxiliary belt for cracks, and of course, relocate your IMRC under the battery tray, after you fixed or replaced it, if its really not working (check the cable and connections first). These are the first things that i do when purchasing a "new" car. After doing these, you can start modding.
