Not that anyone ever checks Empire, but the Thruway is closed between exits 26 and 27 due to flooding. (I-90) Who knows when they'll reopen, since the rain isn't supposed to subside until tomorrow afternoon. It is the same place that washed out (1 lane on one side) a couple of years ago. When they reopen probably depends on whether there's another washout or not, and how much of the road it affects.
Anyone know how big a cubit is?

It has reopened, but we may get another couple of inches before daybreak. (2.5" today so far) And the rain is not supposed to let up until Thursday afternoon. They had some pictures of the Thruway on the news, but they never put the interesting photos on their website...
Schenectady County made state of emergency! Yey...
As much info as I could find. (http://timesunion.com/AspStories/story.asp?storyID=706041) Apparently Capital News 9 doesn't report the news even when there is some.

I've been hawking over the Empire section, but nothing ever happens. Might have to make my own fun....
A) 1 cubit = 45.72 centimeters
and
b) Are you guys still getting rain? Supposed to be heading up to the Niagara Falls area and Rochester in the next few days.

Nah, 3.4" in about 36 hours, but it's pretty much done now. Supposed to be pretty nice for the next week or so - just some showers this weekend.
Glad I'm not in:
Gilboa - 2" in 1 hour yesterday (and glad the dam didn't bust!)
Schoharie - 1.25" in 10 minutes yesterday
And I think they lifted the state of emergency from Schenectady county.
I'll have to talk to Matt to find out how much a centimeter is ...what are you, Canadian? ;)
Where I'm REALLY glad I don't live - East Jewett had over 5" of rain in about 36 hours!

1 inch = 2.54 centimeters :)

Update: Schenectady County still under state of emergency. Not that anyone would want to come here...

Holy crap batman! That's a ton of rain in 10 min! And no, not Canadian, although rumored to be so in my car club. =P Just a google nerd. Looks like we got here right on time, AFTER the rain not during!
