is there a way to check the valves and springs with out taking heads off? engine still has a little knock thought it might be bearings but just changed out crankshaft and installed all new bearings. heres a horrible vid of the noise think its front, right of engine.

It's very very hard to tell with that video, the sound was fuzzy...but it COULD be an exhaust leak. There have been many instances with the Duratec making "knocking" sounds when it was really an exhaust leak! Add this to your list of possibilities...

Here are a couple alternatives:
This is in fact an INJECTOR noise...injector number 1 to be exact, although yours doesn't sounds like an injector...

Double check to make sure your Spark plug wires are routed to the correct plugs on the motor and the coil pack... if they are, my guess is engine knock! Sounds very much like a motor I took out of an SVT a few months back...

ok found the problem, it is a valve problem sort of. pulled head off and found what looks like pieces of a rivet imbedded into head and piston with divets all over the place.
now i need to find out how to push out the valves to check seats and clearance to damaged area, and dremel down the head to smooth it out a bit.
then lower piston to check walls for score marks.
here are some blurry pics of damage. really need to buy a camera!!!!
