Hi!

Over the last year, my company took the initiative to support a local women's shelter. Whenever anyone travels, we collect the little toiletry samples from the hotel room we stay at and bring them back. At the end of the year, we donate boxes of shampoos, soaps, lotions, etc. to the shelter.

I was hoping everyone could help me collect a few items. I will post up which room number I'll be staying at once I know it, if you want to drop off the items from your room to help out. Otherwise just grab me in the parking lot, or whenever you see me. If you have anything you'd like to bring from home to donate, it's also appreciated.

The women in the shelter really do appreciate these items, as some run away from abusive spouses, and need a place to stay at for a few days. The sample sizes is enough to get them through the time they are there, and figure out their next steps.

Since we don't need them, and can bring our own to use, I think this would be a good opportunity to give back. :)

I was thinking.. Don't you think the Hotel would be willing to toss a case of soap/shampoo/conditioner? Tell em what its for, the amount we're gonna be dropping on rooms and alcohol I bet if we ask the first day tehy'll do it.

just another thought.

That's a good idea - but not many hotels would want to participate, as they pay for those. For us, it's included in the cost of the room. So it's no big deal.

Also - it might be funny when they ask why I have boxes worth of toiletries when I'm crossing the border. Donations should be ok. I hope. I'll hide them.
