Fugitive hedge-fund swindler in federal custody - Jul. 2, 2008 (http://money.cnn.com/2008/07/02/news/newsmakers/fugitive_executive.ap/index.htm)
Southwick, Mass.
This is the town I'm originally from. My grandfather hid out there from INS for 26 years, and my father grew up there, my parents lived there for 6 years until I was about 8 months old and they got the crazy idea they wanted to be dairy farmers.
How does one pick such a town to turn themselves in? Darts and a map?

Here it is...NY Post to the rescue. (http://www.nypost.com/seven/07022008/news/regionalnews/fugitive_sam_israel_arrested_118220.htm) ( )
Officials said the recreational vehicle in which Israel fled was found in nearby Granville, Mass. Israel had planned to surrender in Granville but the town's part-time police department was closed, so he rode a motor scooter to Southwick to turn himself in, they said.

Me: "So the guy who turned himself in in Southwick, apparently he first went to Granville."
My mom: "They were probably closed."
Me: "Yup!"

There's something in the water at Southwick. The only person I know from there is genuinely bipolar nuts.

So it was all over before I was a year old...
