So I waited way too long to get my g1. But now I can get my g2 (12 months) about mid-way through this month...
But I also have only done 1 in car hour for driving school (finished the in-class a while ago but he's been busy and so have I)... now I only did driving school to get the g2 earlier but at this point that reasoning is worthless, so now its just for the better insurance rate I guess.

My question... can I just get my g2 on this month and complete my in-car hours for driving school after I get my g2?
Or, do I have to complete my in-car hours and THEN get my g2 for the driving school to have any impact on the insurance rate??

(I am asking because I can get my g2 before I complretly finish driving school now)

talk to the insurance company you would be going through. I don't see why not, its just a matter of when you start to insure yourself. you will need it before you register the cars insurance or you may not get the discount till the following renewal.

If you get your G2 and haven't completed your drivers ed, then you won't get the discount for it. HOWEVER, once you finish it, call the insurance company (they might charge you a policy change fee) and then it will take effect. EDIT: Make sure you have the certificate of completeion from drivers ed. They will be copying it for your file. Don't loose it!

If you are under 25, I would reccommend looking at state farm for insurance. They have a wicked deal going on right now for drivers under 25, you do this test and get an insanely lower rate. I've been driving for allmost 12 years now, with only one speeding ticket on record (that didn't effect my rates) and a girl her at work under 25 pays less on her 2006 V6 stang than my girlfriend who has been driving LONGER but is over 25 pays on her 1997 Grand Am. (the girl's under 25 also pays only $6/month more than I do)

Well I wouldnt be getting insured under my own name right away, I would be placed under my moms name for insurance, so in this case, do I just have to get the driving school completion before I am insured or STLL before i get my g2.

If it's under your mom's name the driving school means nothing, you're just a 'secondary' driver to the insurance company and the rates are still based off of your mom's record.

Therefore, make sure you have the driving school done before the car is registered solely under your name.
