Hey guys, I have a canadian cougar, and I pulled out the daytime running lights fuse. Now the car won't start. As soon as I put the fuse back in, it starts no problem. Whats going on? How do I get around this? Thanks!

That's pretty odd, I can't imagine that ford designed the car to not start if that fuse gets blown, but why would you want to remove it anyway.

I think you actually need to remove the relay in the fuse box rather than the fuse.

Could you install the piece he is talking about in a US cougar to give the cougar running lights or is it more then just the fuse/relay?

yes, the relay was about $20 from teamfordparts.com
it seems most of the canadian members of CEG and NECO want to ditch drls and most US members want them. go figure right?
also for your high beams to work correctly, ie both of them, you need to install the metal jumper where the relay goes.

Really? All this time I thought I had a freak since the manual says only Canadian cars came with them.

I have a brochure that lists it as an option. Along with an automatic rearview mirror, the cargo net (which I know some people actually have), and possibly some other things.
