hello well i went to get my cougar check for problems.... been hearing a sound coming from the front end so this is what came out need to get both front wheel bearings replace and a Left lower ball jont and a alignment with a grand total of 581$.... is it worth that price??? i took it to 4 other shops and my cousin shop (which is only for BMW's and they all said the same thing but alot more.... one place charge me 1200$... so should i pay the 581$ (which will fix all the problems) and then start my paint job and moding job or go for a different car?

thats not a bad price at all, if you do it yourself you'll save over half of that but for the wheel bearing you need a press to get the bearing in the hub. have them do it for that amount if thats what your asking

ok another problems they said my ABS light is on and the reason why is because the left front tire ABS wire was cut... so it looks like i can fix it and splice it back together but i cant find the plug for it where do i plug in the ABS plug at???? do i have to take off the tire? to get to it

ABS prevents the wheels from locking up when you brake. They could be locking up because you panic braked or because you braked too hard in rain/snow conditions, or on something like wet leaves. Or because you have crap tires. :) If the wheels don't lock up, you can better maintain control of the vehicle.

IMHO, if you're out there driving around being stupid, then, yeah, it'll be safer for you. But if you're being careful anyway, you probably aren't going to need it. The one exception is if you get into a situation on a highway where you have to panic brake, the tendency is to slam on the brakes and forget to pump the pedal - and that's where ABS would be nice to have. But that sort of situation is pretty rare, too, and the one or two times I've had it happen I successfully avoided an accident even without ABS.

Personally, I would get the ABS system fixed, though. You never know when someone else is going to have to drive your car, and that person might be someone who has never driven a car without ABS, or is just the type of person that panics and slams on the brake pedal and forgets to pump it.
