you will need the tb bracket, and you will need to block off the hole in the top of it. it should work

Will the gasket be enough to block the hole off. Which tb bracket-the svt one or the 3.0 duratec bracket? Do i use the stock throttle cable or the 3.0 duratec cable? I have both i just wanted to know which one fits. Thanks for the help

I believe the gasket WILL block off the hole.

The ATX Cougar cable should work, since the 96-99 3L tb is the same as the SVT model. Test before driving.

One more thing - the linkage of the 3.0 throttle body has a little ear that sticks out to attach an additional spring. You will have to saw it off.

Doubt it. The accelerator pedal is so different on the Taurus/Sable, you'll probably have WAY too much play.

Not too hard to install and see, though. Worth a try, I guess.

its going to take a little bit of time for the computer to catch up to the tb. the car is getting a lot more air now so it will take some varied driving and it will level out

ok thats cool.i used the 3.0 throttle cable and when i put it to the floor it pops out of the pedal. I might try a codder pin. Any suggestions?

If your using the 3.0L cable make sure that when you have the pedal on the floor the tb is wide open.

I got everything to work today. The tps was bad. It still bounces up and down when moving in neutral. I think maybe a vacuum leak or does the computer need time to adjust. i fixed the throttle cable i used a washer in between the cable end and the pedal it works good.

I have the car running 100%. I had to change back to the stock IACV and use some sealent on all the gaskets now the car runs like a charm. The 3.0 cable works great. The car pulls alot harder on the top end and has better throttle response.
