Need input on this. I had a flowmaster40 put on a few weeks ago and have been smelling the cat converter death smell so my question is has anyone just took the things off and put straight pipe in place of them? I live in Arkansas and don't have that EPA crap to worry with but I do worry about causing damage to my engine. I searched and understand the need for a MIL eliminator but I'm not sure if these engines rely on back pressure like GM motors do. Any advice would be appreciated.

I'm no expert but a cat delete wouldn't harm the motor if done correctly. My advice is if you remove the cats, get a tune, and tune tune tune it. My SHO ran without cats and it tore the motor up because the O2's told it to run rich, and it ran too rich.
