driving home today and O/D off started flashing on and off then the auto transmition malfunction light replaced it and started flashing, when i stop the car and restart the car it goes off then about 5 min after restarting the car it happens all over again,any ideas and will it damage the gearbox if i still use the car? car seems to be running fine little bit jurky when it changes but not over the top? any help will be great im hoping its just a senser to do with o\d.

could be a bad wire??? pobably a good idea to park it for a while.

if your O/D off light is flashing its the PCM telling you one of the components in the trans isn't working properly; IIRC it flashes a code at you and you can read it by counting the flashes, dealerships also have tools to read the code... chances are your trans was overheating... especially if it was shifting harder, did you notice if the Torque Converter was locking when you could finnish accelerating up to speed?
