Pyromania I (Date is set, see first post!)

Okay folks, it's about time i get this shiznit started. Lisa is right and we need a meet. And i'm offering up my place!

I will be hosting a Halloween/birthday party on October 18 - 19.

If your wondering whose birthday it will be it is my 27th on the 19th...so you better bring presents or John will ban you...j/k. Coincidentally, if nadthomas and slade can make it their birthdays aren't far from mine. So it can be a joint birthday party for us. My mother's birthday is also in October, lol.

There is plenty of sleeping space. I have two spare bedrooms and one of them has a bed, a single twin (i think). I also have a recliner somebody can kick back on and if somebody wants to my computer chair is kinda comfy as well. Or, if your in the camping mood, there's tons of room to pitch a tent out in the yard...just don't do what i did at Jagedfest and pitch a tent that's older than the dirt your setting it up on...however i do not know if the weather will be warm weather during this time so plan to bring a few extra blankets if you do sleep outside. Oh, don't forget blankets and pillows for yourself since i don't really have any spares. My shower is open to anybody as well, but please bring a towel and anything else you will need other than soap...i've got plenty of that, lol.

Activites:
Bring a costume if you like, it is a Halloween party, after all.
I have a volleyball net but need to get a volleyball.
I have horseshoes set up and ready to go as well.
Later on in the night we'll set off a bonfire. I've got tons of wood that i've been saving up over the winter just for this purpose (see pics).

Since i can't afford to feed everybody let's make this a potluck. We'll get a list going of who is bringing what. I have a grille but have no idea what shape it is in. I think i remember them saying it needs a couple new parts. If that isn't usable then i do have a stove top griddle that can be used as a substitute. If you plan on drinking please bring your own alcoholic beverage and a cooler, i do have a second fridge in the garage if we need it. I am also very limited on chairs so bring one for yourself.

For those that have a GPS i know i had troubles trying to find 601 in the database. Mine is also 3 or 4 years old so the newer ones might not have this problem. However if you do have troubles try entering OH-601 or some combination there of.

8/1-8/3 and 8/15-8/17 are the only 2 I can make casue of visitation. I dont have my boys those weekends. but I could only pick one date. Theres enough for pyrofest 1, 2,3 and 4 LOL

The Buckeye Goats are renting out National Trails on the 23rd, so I can't miss that. The last weekend in August is probably bad as well because that is weekend before my wedding, but maybe that also makes it a good weekend to celebrate my last weekend as a free man. :biggrin: I'm going hold off on voting right now as well, because I'm trying get a weekend worked for my bachelor party right now, which will probably be in August.

The chair was left behind from the previous owners. And it's broken. There's no way i would trust it to hold weight.

I've decided not to open the gun range. It's too much of a hassle to deal with and i don't want the headache. Besides, i won't be able to have fun if i constantly have to watch what's going on in and around the gun range. I think maybe i'll have another meet at a different time just for shooting or whatever.

I can't vote for a date yet, but I can say that I will not be able to make the 08/22-08/24 weekend as that's my wedding anniversary weekend.

Saturday, 08/09 is out too.

But, at the moment, the remaining dates look OK.

The only two weekends I have open in August are the first 2, I voted for the 8/8-8/10, but the first weekend would work as well. Although Lara has really been putting my nuts in a bind saying I need to focus on the wedding shhtuff 24/7.

The first weekend is the only weekend I can make it now. or the third. I can no longer do weekend switches with my ex... Thought I could but it always depends on her mood. Would just be easier if we could do it the 1st or 3rd weekend.

I hate to be a pain, I would just like to come so I was hoping we could do it then.

Or i could of put the dates on a dart board and throw a dart. And done it several more months ahead.

2 of the weekends are no longer available as of right now. I think it will be the first two weekends. I'll have to find the dates out for sure. I just found out my grandmother in Florida has cancer in her bladder. I will be flying down during the week in between two of the dates. Her health has deteriorated a lot in these past few months and i would like to see her again. My mom and i plan to fly down in December but we just don't know if she will still be there at the time. She's having surgery during the week that we will be there in august.

I'm thinking of moving it back to sometime in September instead. And this time i will just pick a date instead of this voting thing. It's seeming to cause me more headaches than i had hoped. Even though September isn't in the summer time anymore it's still usually good weather. And as much as i would like everybody to show up it's just getting more and more apparent that that won't happen no matter what i do.

sept or october would be great for a pyro event though. I mean does it matter if its a bit chilly since theres going to be a big fire anyway? just pack warm clothes. :shrug:

Yep, Sept 7th is the wedding and I won't be back from my honeymoon until the following weekend. The weekend of mini-fest or later are all good with me. I shouldn't have anything major going on for the rest of the year after that, I won't be able to afford to do anything. :facepalm:

Though it would be hard to do because for anybody that gets drunk the night before isn't going to want to get up that early and ride a bunch of rides hungover. And we're all so tired right afterwards nobody is going to want to stay up after getting back. So i think i'll pass on it.
