View Full Version : Heel-toe on stock pedals?

I certainly can't do it. I've tried many times, but I have the hardest time combating the height of the gas pedal...if it was a little higher I think it would be SO much easier. Any suggested techniques? The only time I would want to do it is when I'm approaching a tight curve and I can't "afford" the time it takes to swing my foot to the gas pedal to rev match while coasting in neutral (after braking) and then engage the clutch. I want to be able to brake and raise the rpms at the same time to eliminate the lag, but my feet are so darn awkward with these pedals! I'm hoping the smaller Roush pedals will help..we'll see.

By the way - how do you pronounce "Roush"? sounds like "couch" or "oooh lala"?

Roush like couch...

hmm... i know that it would be easier if the gas pedal was bit wider but it can be done on stock.

I always put my heel on the brake pedal, it works out for me. I wouldn't worry about it so much if these cars had better clutch assembly's.

I really dont see the purpose of heel-toe... maybe I'm just much quicker with my feet.

smaller? uhh, I think you might be miss understanding these pedals. you do know they bolt ONTOP of the existing pedals right? not replace them.

edit: the reason the gas pedal is set back the way it is is so that if you accidently hit or jab something it is not the gas pedal

You need small asian feet to properly do this.

bensen - I actually thought they replaced the stock pedals...haven't even opened them up yet

Maybe they'll make a difference...sometimes my foot "sticks" to the plastic lower console thing, right where two different panels meet by the gas pedal. The height difference just might fix that.
