My friend, who owns a Wrangler, always yells at me every time I drive it that when I pass another Wrangler I have to wave. It's mandatory. It's weird, because... well they always wave back. When I'm in my truck I get the same thing from all the other truck drivers, and I'm gonna assume motorcyclists do it too!

I've got into the habit now of waving to every Cougar I see on the road. Modified. Not modified. Every single one gets a wave haha. So far I've only had one other guy in a all blacked out Coug give me a nod back, but I'm sure soon the fever will catch on. :goofy:

lol I've done that about 6 times to other Cougars in town & got 2 waves back, a nod from a cute chick, & the finger.

Its like the old trucker greeting from the steering wheel, raise your index & middle finger just a bit when you pass by each other. Its actually code too, because one means cop down the way.

Hence the saying "It's a Jeep thing."

I've seen almost no Cougars lately. But I tend to wave when I see them and get no response.

I was driving my brother-in-law's wrangler for a day, and it's true. It's weird.

It's the "Hey you paid $18k for stamped sheet metal and plastic bag windows too?" wave.

i wave at any car thats considered "tuned". Body kit, unusal colors, lowered, etc etc.
And seems like when i drive my cougar, people with "tuned" car wave at me or gives me thumbs up as well.

Harley-Davidson riders do it. It's called the "Hand down" (like putting your hand out for a low-five) to symbolize the "HD" name.

yea, HD riders do it.

I always wave at passing cougars, but usually they dont even notice me or they're old women who dont give a ****...

I took a hood to one of the guys off of here last saturday, he lives up in Canton. I swear I have NEVER seen so many cougars in one town. In columbus I may see 2 or 3. Driving from one end of canton to the other, after I saw 5 cougars I started counting. There were 23 cougars I passed. I was like wtf, did they have a clearance sale I missed or something.

I play chicken with another Cougar if I see it driving down the road. I usually win.

 haha yea our cars are hard enough to find as is! :goofy:

I never knew the HD wave. Boaters have a much different wave... it's like a pretentious wave.

Guys who ride Cruisers wave at each other. Guys who ride sport bikes wave at each other. Neither normally wave to the other. Then you get the guys on Enduro's. They wave at everyone.

Everyone here on a cycle waves at each other. Don't matter if it's a Harley, rocket...ect... it's always the Low Five. I wanna start that for the cougar. ;)
But like everyone else, nobody waves from a Cougar. I get all excited when I see one, then get stiffed when I make eye contact. /sigh

I disagree. All of the ones I've seen out here are friendly waves.

Although I did get heckled by some teenagers on a recent trip out in Kennebunkport. They waved and then kept asking if we were pirates.
I said "yaaaaaaaaaaaaar" and then I threw them the shocker.

Friend of mine has a 88 Islander and no one waves, his dad has an 02 Rubicon and no one waves when we are in that either. When I drove a Kawasaki Ninja other motorcyclists waved and a dude on a cruiser flipped me off.
