Hey everyone! Just so there are no surprises, I wanted to let everyone know in advance that James (puma/offroad) and I are bringing out Ferrets to fest! Mainly because we don't want to leave them in someone else's hands for that long, and because there are lots of people that want to meet them, and we love them! :biggrin: We have two of them, Licorice (the dark one, girl) and Foster (the silver colored one, boy). They will be in our room, in their cage most of the time cause they sleep about 18 hours a day, or they will be in OUR arms when we bring them out to visit. If you're going to want to hold them you MUST stay with us because they are extremely squirmy (if that's a word) and fast, expecially in new environments with lots of things to look at! Don't be offended if they don't want to be held, they are not by any means "lap" animals.
Just incase anyone is concerned, we just had their rabies and distemper vaccinations done on both of them last month and are bringing paper work to prove so.. although they are not mean animals, and are not likely to bite you, I know some people will ask.
Also, please don't respond to this thread with such comments as "OMG you're bringing your RATS to Fest!!", or "Ewww.. don't they smell??" I know these are common thoughts, but they are unecessary... our Ferrets are not RATS, and we bathe them :biggrin:

George is asian. He'll eat anything with four legs. This one time at fest, we never saw Sunni's dog again...

I find it VERY offensive.......everyone knows the best way to serve ferret is to stuff and roast them.

that sounds good however have you ever had beer can ferret? it is kind of like beer can chicken but with ferret.

I love ferrets, my parents had some for several years. They are just awesome, can't wait to see these guys. ;)

Can't wait to meet the critters finally and yes, they are very different than rats. I've had many rats over the years and ferrets are next on the list when we go to Michigan.
I wish we could bring Neco, the mascot pooch with us to Fest but he's toooooo bloody hyper.

We are excited to bring them :) I went and got them a different cage for the hotel yesterday so they would have their own house :) See you all soon!

I had a couple ferrets a long time ago. I'd love to get a couple more but just can't afford it right now...
