Does anyone have a picture of how the 2001/2002 belt routes on the V6? There was a picture posted up a while back but I can't seem to find it.

My pic is an 02 escape front cover. exactly the same as my 01 2.5.
the 99/00s have the tensioner on the left side of the cover towards the back of the engine compartment

Thanks for the picture. That's what I figured the routing was but I thought it would be good to verify.

FYI the 2001-2002 belt size is: 82.5" and the 1999-2000 belt size is: 71.5".

And you can really squeeze the belt between the tensioner pulley and engine block without removing the tensioner? It's a damn tight fit especially in the car!

Of course you can. I don't think I've ever removed a tensioner to pull or install a belt.

yeah you have to turn the belt sideways and its easy after that.
