Definitely find a good set of used cams and then use the rest of the cash for other mods, that's what I'd do

Yep, got a set on the way with about 70K on them. Another question tho, Should I get SVT heads or just P/P mine the rest of the way? Also, IF i get SVT heads, do I need the pistons also & what else would I need to upgrade? I'm SVT Lite right now, but have cams, #19 inj. soon and a Xcal3 on the way.

I wouldn't worry about it unless you really want them. With my SE bottom end and heads with all the SVT parts I was around basic modified SVT power levels ... 174/169 (mustang dyno)where as my SVT with KKM and some exhaust work put down 172/154 (dynojet)
I could tell there was a torque difference but that was about it ... oh the SVT flywheel made a nice difference also.

Cool, I have the fidanza 9lb. flywheel and Spec 2.5 clutch and noticed a difference. Also have the exhaust and headers mods. My concern is, by next spring, I want to put in a supercharger (ideally) or a turbo and want to know if i have to build the engine up with the SVT Heads and pistons to do so, or is SVT 90% good enough to handle the extra power. I appreciate u guys helping me out, as i am learning. I'm the type that if i do it, i want to do it right the first time. You all will see that once i get the pics posted shortly!!

You don't need the SVT heads or pistons. I'd skip it and save toward the turbo/supercharger.

Thanks, but just outta curiousity, what gains do the heads/pistons give over 2002 Cougar stock?
The bump in compression, cams, and the EH intake ports & UIM bump you from the 170hp stock to the 195hp of the '98-'99 SVTs, or 200hp of the 2000 SVTs.
This is all answered in my "SVT Upgrades- By request" thread.
