so I've been living in this condo/townhouse subdivision for alittle over a year and theres alot of seniors in the area. Well lets just say one couple has yet to figure out how the car alarm works. they got a fairly recent lincoln continential and on average they set their car alarm off AT LEAST SEVEN times each weekend.
and I'm not talking going off for 30 second, and I'm not talking like whoops something hit my alarm button while my keys are in my pocket. I'm talking about them standing in front of their car, alarm blaring, them standing there continuing to hit the alarm button on the keyfob [which doesnt turn the alarm off], then deciding that the best way to turn it off would to be to drive it around the neighbor hood a few times.
its like, oh geee, I dont think our neighbors in the far corner of the subdivision can clearly hear it, lets circle around there. So ya, they drive laps around the residence with their alarm going off. Or if they are in a 'hurry' just leave it going while they run errands.
the average time for them to turn off the alarm is around 10 minutes.
I caught them in the act last weekend, watching them continue to hit the alarm button on the keyfob. And I was screaming at them to hit the god damn unlock button.... they gave me a look like I was the biggest idiot in the world and continued to stand there hitting the alarm button before they became frustrated and drove off.

 I'm sorry to hear that. I would probably invest in one of those giant 2-fold posterboards and glue some giant pictures instructing them what to do in the event that their alarm goes off. Like giant arrows pointing to the unlock button. Then just put the board on their car.

...or just talk to them.

Your first idea is better.
Giant signs with pictures ftw.
Bonus points if you take pictures of yourself in the process of instructing them via giant signs with pictures.

One word, Bullhorn! and then you can hit the siren button on it and direct it in their ears.

ugh, this is getting bad.
yesterday I was awoken to the alarm at 7am.... this morning it went off at 5:47
I thought something was wrong with my alarm clock, I didnt even know the sun was up at that hour.
I'm thinking of printing out detailed instructions and pasting it to their car. and to make sure they dont come off, I plan on using these special labels we had developed for one of our customers. They are used in concrete drying fields [they make cement sewer pipe]. Anyways they needed something tough enough to have a 100% adhesion rate for 2 years after being stuck to wet concrete... lets see them try to remove that.

i wouldnt do that, lol.
old people wake up early, they also go to bed early, young people go to sleep late -- use this to your advantage!

call the 5-0 when they hit their alarm and say someone is trying to steal a car in ur parking lot. then, the cop will eventually show them how to turn it off

I like where this is going. What if you pasted a super duper sized instructional posterboard to their windshield, directed inside. that way the damage is more of a hassle as opposed to a moneypit.

actually, the alarm guy is 2nd on my list of priorities.
item #1 is this goddamn beat to **** work trailer that is parked infront of my house.
it was there last summer [before I bought the place] and it sat there without being moved or used until october.... now there wasnt too much I could do about it at the time because A) I didnt know who's it was and B) I couldnt complain about it because I had 2 cars illegially parked all summer myself.
well I got my issues taken care of [cougar was repaired and moved into my garage, and the towncar is no longer registered to a dead man and has valid plates].
so lo and behold the trailer showed back up 3 weeks ago. I saw who dropped it off. ITS A CONTRACTOR THAT OCCASIONALLY DOES WORK IN OUR COMPLEX. Meaning he comes out for a few hours every other week or so... HE DOESNT EVEN LIVE HERE!
Called and complained as there is NO reason for this. Was told the contractor is complaining about the cost of gas blah blah blah. ummmm so? I am sick of looking at this thing.... grrrrr, left more voicemails today.

That's definately worse than the alarms.
I've got a neighbor who's alarm is way to sensitive. He usually shuts it off pretty quickly (if he is home), but it is so sensitive that thunder sets it off.

well this is more like, why are you locking your doors, what are you afraid someones going to break in and steal your box of kleenex??!? it is a zero crime area.
reply from the HOA prez
"Yes and I told him again yesterday that it has to go home! He said he
would move it; normally when he says that after my second or third
request, he does move it. I will check over the weekend again and it's
there he will hear from me again."
its not going to get moved. the dude uses it as permanent storage.

So is my area. The biggest concerns for the cops in Town and Country (at least according to the latest newsletter) is people entering the suicide lanes to early.
