Did a search but no info that really helps.
Had a major rust spot developing where the spoiler attaches to the hatch lid. So I decide to spot paint it. Of course the rust has got down inside the spoiler bolts and rusted them all to heck. Had to bust the spoiler off the hatch lid on one side. Ok, fine, did the spot painting and it looks pretty good (black is easy). Now, its time to put the spoiler back on. The bolts on one side are useless.
Anyone have any bright ideas on how to get the bad studs out of the spoiler for replacement without breaking the darn thing?? They just spin spin spin if you try to turn them out.
For now, I've had to wire one side of the spoiler back on. grrrrr.

once you remove it your pretty much screws, the usually rust to the point were it cant be reused. Shave it.

Have you tried tightening a nut on the screws?

the studs just spin in the spoiler - they dont turn out or in (no tighten or loosen). I cant accept that this entire spoiler is trash just because a couple of threaded studs are rusted to hell.
Someone has dealt with this successfully before, Im sure. I was hoping to learn from thier experiance.
Thank for your input anyway guys, I'll devise my own solution.

that happened to me too, I ended up just pulling out the entire stud from the spoiler. I have yet to repair it as I have just replaced it with a roush spoiler. But I was thinking if I did want to repair it I would try something with 2 part urethane filler. to fill in the hole and then reattach the stud. Then I priced it out and its not worth the cost really when people part out stock spoilers from time to time on here for pretty cheap. the urethane stuff is pretty pricy. plus the hours it would take to do it good just wasnt worth it in my mind.
fiberglass might hold ok. for your purposes. better then a wire anyway.

thanks for your idea.
I think I will just dremel around the old stud and get it out, then I'll get some of those long bolts with those Butterfly wings on them, put them in the new hole, put a waher on it, put a nut on that, put it back thru the hatch lid, put on another washer and a new nut.
should work im thinkin.....

I've taken a couple spoilers off and they all do the same thing. Let me guess it was the passenger side. I would cut out the old stud and epoxy a new one in.

mine was both the back ones, they both had to be broke out but the drivers side was tighter. I made sure to put some anti seize on the roush spoiler when I put it on, even tho the roush has actual threaded in studs

you got it, passenger side. drivers side was fine.
epoxy in a new one? whats holding in the old one? is there a nut inside on the top of the stud or what?????
