they are not all the same. the dowel centering pins on the 01-02 Cougar mounts are smaller and will easily fit into the dowel holes on the 3L block.
Using a 00 or earlier mount will create a minor problem and to remedy, you would need to cut the larger dowels flush and then bolt the mount in.
Some people feel much better using the mount that correctly fits into the holes in the 3L block...
