Doesn't your insurance go up after you make a claim for damages?

That all depends on what type of claim and the insurance company. The same thing happened to me, and my entire quarter-panel was dented in. Insurance said since the car was parked and I was working (hit and run) my rates wouldn't go up because it wasn't my fault.

That sucks, we had that happen to ours 4 years ago. It was parked in a parking lot and somebody hit the passenger side fender and left. We never did find out who, we did get the z3 fender though:)

Every time it happened, i called the police so i could get a police report.
All the cops were my buddies so they always make it nice. :)
and as far as i know, my rate stayed the same after i reported those incidents.

From my understanding the insurance rates will go up depending on what kind of claim it is. Collision will make it go up, but comprehensive will not. I think having the car parked and hit and run is comprehensive as well is a tree falling on it or vandalism. Of course it always depends on your insurance company too.
I'm not too savy about lingo so I may have got the words wrong.
