Im just glad my city upgraded the water system... otherwise we would be.
Backyard had a few inches of water, but that was about it.

Just enough water in the basement to make ripple lines when it is flowing to the drain. Most have 2" standing water and the lady across the street has sewage backup

The worst is the cat prints all over the kitchen floor because they get their paws wet before hitting the litter box :banghead:

home owners, yes... flood insurance, no
I think they said it was a state of emergency so, that means fema would be coming and helping out or something like that.

3 types of "flood" insurance FYI
-Busted pipe/faulty sump pump flood insurance (homeowner's ins. covers damages, not repairs of pipes and pumps
-Sewage backup insurance
-Flood caused by leaks in walls and through window wells insurance
I have none of those

wowsers.... luckily I'm in an area where its draining really well and we are built slightly uphill and havent seen the effects yet... Although the amount of standing water and closed roads/highways around us is unbelievable..
Let me guess... this summer we are going to have record rainfalls to go with our record snowfalls?
this really sucks and my heart goes out to every single person who is effected by all these rainfalls.
My work has a warehouse in Cedar Rapids, Iowa... they've been flooded since Wednedsday I believe and its even gotten into their fresh water supply.. :(

Our basement has been getting wet for about the last 2-3 months, ever since the snow melted... they tried pulling the carpet and running huge fans under it, but it was just too much water.... They've pulled the carpet and ripped 2 walls off to fix leaking walls.... but it's still leaking, still waiting on them to come by and fix more of it. Luckily.... I rent and it's the land lords job to take care of these issues....
