removing orange indicator inserts.

i am planning on removing the orange turn signal indicator pieces, on other threads i have read, it said not to, due to a black part showing? iv already got orange bulbs for it, so i figured take them out, then put in the orange bulbs, but how big are the black pieces that would show? and how would you recomend doing this?
