We're lame and antisocial. So any ideas? I tend to fail at them.

I've been tossing the idea of hosting a meet at my place. Sort of a house warming party/mod meet/kick back and have fun sort of thing. I've got a volleyball/badminton net and a horseshoe set. I also have a gun backstop for those that like to play with firearms. I currently have three 6 foot tall tree stumps sitting in the burn pit that i uprooted a couple weeks ago plus a ton of other wood for a bon fire that i've been collecting over the winter. I have tons of driveway and if i ever clean my garage that's pretty big as well (ask Andy). I've been kicking all this around in my head and also thinking about calling it Pyromania.
Would everybody be up to it if i set it all up?

That would be cool Pyro. Sundays would be best for us. But not the 22nd! What about this upcoming week?

I'd need a bit more time to prepare than a week. Especially with so many rainy days in the forecast (seriously, we have enough, you can stop for a week or three...). I was actually thinking about doing it sometime after fest. I might be able to do it on the 28th. Sundays are bad for me since i do laundry/dishes/bills on sunday and i go to bed a bit early to get a small nap in before going to work sunday night. Depending on how things go i could call off sunday night, but i would much rather not.
I'm also debating on letting people use the shooting backstop. I will have some rules like you must be sober when shooting and once you've had a drink you may not touch a firearm. I'm thinking of imposing time limits as well since i don't want people shotting off all day long and pissing off my neighbors. I know they don't mind it so long as it's not constant. I'll even tape off the area so nobody wanders around it or behind it. I'm also debating not letting anybody shoot. It is creating an extremely dangerous situation. Well, i guess i'll make that decision depending whether or not anybody wants to use it and, if so, how many people.
I'll also probably invite some of my friends and family around here.
I'll also look into whether or not the race track is open for the public or not on whatever weekend it is. I live less than a mile from the track.

Yeah I was thinking the same thing about the shooting. LOL guns+alcohol=bad.
I have always wanted to shoot a handgun myself but I haven't even touched one. LOL I'm just a skeered lil girl.. LOL(when it comes to guns.) The week after fest I would have my boys. The week after that I wouldn't But its no biggie I can get a weekend switch done with them.
I must say I am looking forward to anything I can do to NOT be at home at this point.

That's the whole reason why i'm debating it. Cause i'm not sure i want the hassle of making sure people aren't drinking and shooting. I think it might be okay if i give everybody a time frame earlier in the day to shoot and just not allow drinking till after the time expires for guns.
I'm not really into guns either, but i have shot them before. And it is kinda fun. I do want to pick something up just cause i live alone in the country.
Like i said nothing is final at this point, just kinda throwing the idea out and pondering it.

I know Brett and I would totally be all over shooting. Sober. Like you said you could just allow that early in the day and stop at a certain time. Make sure everything is locked and in trunks. We try to shoot as much as we can but never really have time to get to a range. My parents moved back to Michigan again so their place is open for a meet too. It was a blast 2 years ago. (damn that long!)

i would be all over shooting too. i've got a couple rifles and it's a b**** to find a range down here that i don't have to pay an enormous membership fee. i agree w/ the no alcohol+gun rule TOTALLY. i had a friend up the street from me lose a boyfriend cuz one of his buddies was drunk and thought it was funny to scare him and shoot through the bathroom door while he was taking a piss. unfortunately he actully shot him in the back and died instantly. so i am DEFINATELY not gonna look at alcohol when i've got my gun, or let anyone else. u know all of us brian and if u do decide to let people use ur "range" u know that we're a safe bunch of people. but utlimately it's ur call.
with guns or not i think it would be a blast. and i vote that it not be the 28th weekend, cuz i'm not gonna b in town and i'd really like to come. i think after fest would be cool for pyromania since everyone would be going through fest withdraw and it'd b nice to get together. just my 2 cents.

That's kinda what i'm thinking. Give it 2 or 3 weeks from fest for everybody to recover. I'll put some more thought into it and make a dedicated thread for it a bit later.

I might try to come up depending on what I have going on when you have it scheduled. The shooting would be a blast but if people (including ones not shooting) are going to be drinking it is probably not a good idea.
