So I couldn't come up with the money to buy the clutch I wanted, I ran a little short once I got everything, but i got a deal on a used svt I think. I have a few questions about it though. So far my parts list goes like this:
svt block 56K, quaife lsd, slick shift forks, svt flywheel, used svt clutch and the bearings and shim kit needed.

Anyways,

1.) when I went over to see the clutch he micrometered it at .2545 inches (new SVT clutch micro's at .2845 inches). So its got like 80% or so left?? Is there any other way to guage the life of it? the grooves look good. Just curious.

2.) I bought a brand new svt flywheel to go with this, is there anything I should do to help it mate up good? I.E. Scuff out the PP on the clutch? Should i scuff up the flywheel face?

Just trying to avoid any issues and could use some advice, Any other comments that i might miss please feel free to throw at me.
I have an excellent installer lined up so once I get everything to him things will be good I'm sure, just want to make sure I have good parts.

I installed a brand new Fidanza and SVT clutch with no scuffing. It's all about driving sensibly for the first 500 miles or so. The car does all that work for you.

I was just wondering since I was using a new flywheel and a used clutch.

Have you checked into buying just a new clutch disc? Might not be that much, if you are confident that the pressure plate and slave cylinder are good.

$111 from team ford for a new disc. I was hoping to use everything out of this, I got it for $70, So I'd be looking at close to what I would have paid new, I was looking to get good life out of this at that price. I could always switch it back yet and use the money I paid him for more powdercoating, just was hoping I could get the car running good with this one.

Are you sure that's the cost of a new disc? The last time I tried to order a disc I was told that they no longer sell them separately. You need to buy the pressure plate with the disc now so it's about $230.

They just like pushing the whole thing I think. I asked Bill J. how much a disc was and he said its $230 for the disc, pp, tob. So I looked it up myself on the site and found it for $111

Yeah, I found that I could not find a listing on TeamFord for the total package (clutch disc, PP, TOB), only the separate parts listings. I had to PM Bill to get the actual part number for the kit together.

I don't doubt they still list it because they used to sell it that way. I'd doubt they would sell it to you if you called and tried to order though.
