Does anyone have anything they'd like installed at Fest? If so post here. Id be willing to lend a hand since Ive had a good bit of experience, and Im sure there are a ton of others that can chime in! I will update this thread with who needs what and who is volunteering help!

(Reminder: Due to this being in a hotel parking lot we are semi-limited in what we can do, but I remember past years werent too bad!)

I volunteer my car so that you can demonstrate how-to properly wash, wax and detail a vehicle.

Serious, I would pay too!

With it being so close to Cougarfest, the only possible way would be if the 3 of us bought some black Honda Civics with green neons, and found a big semi-truck carrying those parts :flushed:

- 1x Clay Kit
- 1x Cleaner Wax
- 1x Polish
- 1x Gold Class or Equivalent Wax
- 1x Masking tape (1"width) to mask off rubber trim
- An assortment of clean Microfiber towels
- Wax applicator (an orbital would be great)
- 1x Dish Soap Detergent (to strip old wax off car)

I'd like to see this. Black's a hard color to keep looking good, so it should be a good example.

Especially the hood, which is basically a freaking mirror... heh!

I have the towels, the Maguires ClayBar/Detailing spray kit, the GoldClass Wax, and GoldClass car wash soap (which smells awesome!) :)

*If someone has a Zaino wax though, I would love to see how that works in comparison... I find the Maguires, if not careful, leaves a white residue behind - I've been told Zaino stuff is clear?
... not sold in Canada though :(

Nemesis

White residue is left behind when too much wax is used on the paint. Just like skin, your paint has a saturation point, much like when I tell people waxing 4-5 times does no good for your paint, its only harder to keep removing.

Doesnt the side of the hotel have a place where we can wash our cars?

ND4SPD
06-02-2008, 06:12 PM
They did, but I think we caused them to have a massive water bill, so not anymore  I'm sure we could get a few buckets though... you're supposed to wash one section of the car at a time right? (So as to not give the soap time to 'dry' on the car) Could just have a wash bucket, then have a 'rinse' bucket.

thats cool, I don't mind having my car waxed TWICE

Hey, you could even do the left side in Zainos and the right side in Maguires.... then we could see which does the better job! ;) seriously... that would be kinda cool!

How hard would it be to replace a drift bumper (if one of the loverly people coming through PA can pick it up for me) and replacing a fart can exhaust with a stock exhuast?

I'll be pulling the stock exhaust here in a day or two but I dont want to touch my DD without expertise to help put the stock one back on.

With the amount of work I'm doing on my car before Fest I might just throw all the parts in the trunk and you guys can help me put it back together.

I got some stuff to be installed!

-KENWOOD KAC-9104D 1800 WATT MONO AMP
-KENWOOD KAC-8404 4 CHANNEL 600W AMP
-ALPINE SPR-13S 5.25" SPEAKER COMPONENT SET
-ALPINE SPR-13C 5.25" 2-WAY COAXIAL SPEAKER SET
-DUAL BATTERY/BATTERY RELOCATION KIT
-RCAS
-CARPUTER
-TOUCHSCREEN
-2 MTX SUBS

All waiting to be installed... Proabably do it before fest, that's way to much to be done in the parking lot. Anyone need a stock system? Won't be any stock audio left. lol:tongue:

K I'm not swapping exhaust yet. I don't want stock exhaust and my new job will let me afford what I really want in a about 2 months.

so.. I'm thinking or ordering these Hella Supertones - Exterior (http://www.fastwrx.com/hesu.html) and Jaged is gonna put a rear stabilizer on, and I'm pulling my wheels wells off hte race cougar and bringing them along and possibly have a bumper to put on and definitly have a wing to put on.

so with the drift bumper do you think those would be visible or would it be possible to keep them hidden inside the engine bay?

If they won't work in the cougar I won't order them but if you guys think we could figure something out I'll order them monday, hopefully have them in time.

There really isn't any "expertise" to swapping an exhaust. It's like... held on by 2 bolts... has a couple of rubber hangers to hold it up.

i did mine in about 2 hours w/ no expert help. like andy said, 2 bolts and some slip on rubber hangers. just get a can of penetrating oil and spray all the joints and hangers down a couple times the day before u want to take it off to help make them easier to get off.

as for parking lot mods, how bad would a roush sway bar be to do in a parking lot? i've got one i want to get installed.

I'm not going to pretend to know what I'm talking about :flushed: but its not something as simple as tying it into your speedometer or anything? Theres a special connection?

I wish I knew how my garage did mine :( But if anyone can help you, its probably Ron (Excelcier) :)

I wish! Then I wouldn't have to mess with this. The Lincoln doesn't have the traditional vehicle speed sensor, its speed is instead calculated by the ABS sensors and then transmitted directly to the ECU, or at least thats what I've been told. I have a Ford Service Manual that I ermmm . . . "acquired" for the 2002-2004 model years, I haven't had a chance to crack it open just yet but I will have that available if that'll help.
