IIRC, they are the ones who sell on ebay too... If I'm correct in that, then they are decent, I know a few people who've got alts from the guy on ebay...

The only thing I'm worried about is the alt not being big enough plus it said I'll probably need to buy a wiring kit for it . Would that be nessecary??????

most likly you will need some bigger wires to run from the alt to the battery.

upgrade your big 3( + battery to + alt, - from battery to - chassis, - alt to - chassis) run you two runs of true 1/0 wire look into knukonceptz or kicker hyperflex, install two more batteries in the rear, youll be fine with that 220 im running 10,000+ watts on a iraggi 240 and yes they are a good company im thinking about adding another alt to my car and thats wat its lookin like to be.

There's no reason for dual 1/0 runs, that's overkill for a single 220amp alt. Two extra batteries is also overkill, no need to spend an extra $300 if you don't need to.
Please remember folks, bigger is NOT always better when it comes to audio. Seems a bit silly to put that much money into a system in the Cougar when the car itself cannot surpass 140-145dB without blowing itself to pieces. Sunroof, doors with no window tracks, hatch itself, rear wiper grommet, clutch grommet -- all of these things fail long before 150dB is reached which vents the pressure and halts the climb up the chart.
I've not only done all of the testing and tuning in the Cougar, but I've been an IASCA/dB Drag judge for 14 years. After everything I've seen the Cougar is by far one of the worst vehicles for SPL (next to a softtop convertible). After running the SPL at fest for the past 4 years madgeo still holds the Cougar record with high 130's -- and that was a massive system that was built properly.

i agree run dual 0g is overkill and waste of time, with an updated alt and good battery and properly sized wiring you should be fine.
big 3 would probably be helpfull but i would focus more on updating the grounds.
also the cougar can surpass the 140 mark, my highest with modest system was 144.2 at comp in sd way back when...

I thought madgeo hit a 148.9 in '05? I'm pretty sure thats what he hit because that is what I have desperatley been aiming for.
I don't have a sunroof, sealed the hatch grommets off completely off, welded the floor pan. Pulled the dash and completely sealed off the outside vent area from the A/C and dynamatted the firewall and sealed everything off and the best I hit was a 147.2
That was in February in FL, I have since added a battery and had my alt redone with an external voltage regulator.
John is right when he says the cougar is the absolute worst car for SPL. I had my whole system hooked up in a friends Yukon and hit a 153.1 without a sweat.
