Ok I've done my research on Alt's but the problem is I dont know how big to go
Since I need a new one cause I keep frying them beacuse of my system
I'm running 150 amp's with the system, the question is how big do I go???
200-220-250????

Why not go as big as you can get? That way you are safe.
But question is, are you absolutely positive that its because of your system, that the ALT is failing?
Our ALTS suck! ;)

I'm pretty sure cause when it is hooked up with the system it fries it.
I'm runing stock ALT's with two 2500 class D mono blocks hooked up a pair of new kicker L7's with a 2.0 farad powercap 0/1 gauge ran from the battery back to the distabution block than 4 gauge too everything else.
the amps have three 25 amp fuses a peice= 150 amp total
biggest you can get, of course.
but get the real deal. H-O alternator makes alternator specifically for competition cars.

I got an estimate from HO the other day and the only option they gave me was $589 for 220amps, just fyi

Can't you run a much bigger Capacitor for those 2 amps? Seems small for what you have in your set-up... you should try a 5frd or 10frd Cap... it may help when the amps need the most power to hit the lower bass levels???
BUT... there is a place on EBAY that does High Output alternators.
Put in the search: Cougar alternator, and they should pop up. They might be able to go bigger than what is listed too...

ohio generator alts are good... HO alts are good... the guy on ebay that aircoug is refering to is good... ive had alts from all 3, i know of a few other alt places too but the names slip my mind... alcohol= lack of memory lol
oh and 250 should suffice, given that the stock alt is 110 i beleive... so an extra 140 should suffice... if you're feelin froggy go for a 275 or 300... but I dont think you'll need it

I don't think I'm gonna be putting anything bigger in the car the two L7's slam hard enough:biggrin:
Maybe just maybe some where down the like I'll have 4-6 L7's:tongue:
