Alright so i got 20% tint all around in November 07 and have had no problems with it until last week. I got pulled over for my tint [and nothing else! c'mooooooon!]. Later i find that this is only possible because tint in michigan had been changed to a moving violation [you used to have to be pulled over for something else, then cited for it].
So the cop gave me a fixit ticket, so if i pull if off my front windows and show a cop who signs my ticket i get off scott free...however i love my tint .
So i went to my optometrist and asked him to write me a note, which i did. So now i'm wondering what the best pathway is for me to deal with my fixit ticket...as i see it here are my options:
-Try showing a cop my note, and see if he'll sign my ticket so i can send it in
-I've also heard that i have to use my note to get a restriction on my license where i can only drive cars with tint [ BS], and then go take my ticket to wherever and show them
-Or do i have to pay the fine [no idea how much] and then just show the cop my note if he happens to ask about my tint again?
ANY help would be appreciated, thanks guys :)

trust me man, i had a note and i still got tickets, the cops dont care, DONT PUT IT BACK ON!!!! because they will give you tickets and then you gets points for it, so take some advice and leave it off. and let me guess it was a state cop?

In VA the darkest tint you can have on the front windows is 50% and thats not very dark. I just got my windows tinted so since i had to get 50% in teh front i got 35% on the 2 small rear windows since thats as dark as you can go on those and then i put 20% on the very back. I wish it could be darker but thats VA laws for ya.

My optometrist says that i am supposed to take their letter to the secretary of state and have them put a restriction on my license so i can only drive cars with tint. I think that's what i'll end up doing. And if i ever get pulled over driving someone else's car..."hey i had no choice this was the only car"
And yes...state cop

I had my tint for about 4 years before I got questioned about it at all. Hell I have tinted tails as well and never got questined about them either. I was pulled over at least once a year during that period as well.
I did finally get a tint ticket about 7 months ago on the way to my wedding rehersal. The guy pulled me over for going like 15 or 20 over and only ended up hitting me for the tint fixit ticket so I can't complain.
And about your not, do you really have an eye issue that would require you to drive with tint? I knwo once you have that restriction on if a cop doesn't believe you they will hound you about it. As in if they see your car driving around with the windows down pulled over and ticketed because you are restricted to driving with tint only. Driving a friends car ticketed for driving a caar without tint. It would be like somone with glasses that has a corrective lenses restriction driving without them, they were approved to drive in that condition and now are not thus they are breaking a law.

ya going there they give you a paper for the eye doctor to fill it out, and send it in, but they dont tell you that where they send the people never or take years for that restriction to show on your license, trust me and just keep it off, was it a state cop who pulled you over??
