There was plenty of interest stated in the interest check, so let's make this official. :) This GB is for the Roush shift knob, pictured below, for $35 shipped. Paypal me, gamiller@vt.edu. You can also send a check but it must clear the bank (3-5 days) before I place your order. Payment must be received by noon Friday, June 6, so that I can place the order that day.

NOTE:
CANADIANS, please add $10 USD to your total order (knob=$45, pedals=$45, or both=$80). I will accept CAD as well as USD.
For other addresses outside the U.S., please PM me for a quote.

The knob is aluminum, spherical, has a "brushed metallic" / "satin" finish, and will thread on an OEM stick shift for the Contour, Cougar, and Focus.

is there a limited number of these knobs and pedals?

gamiller
05-28-2008, 03:17 PM
Yes, the parts are discontinued, and not every Roush dealer can get them. My source said he could get me 10 knobs. Maybe he can get more. My other source said he could get me 15 pedal sets, maybe more.

I guess it depends on the threads of your aftermarket shifter....Other than trying it out I'm not sure how else you'd know. I'd bet you could sell it back to someone on the forums if it didn't fit because there are a limited numbers of these.

The one in the picture is on an Arospeed billet short-shifter. It also works on the stock shifter.

It fits my Ford Racing (a.k.a. Steeda) shifter for the Focus. I presume it will also fit a B&M shifter for the Contour. Fits thread size (M12 x 1.25).

I think there is only one finish/color correct? It sounds like some are confused on what to call the finish.

Well I know I'm confused. I used to install shower doors and Brushed/Satin were a hair different. So. lol

I think the term "Brushed" GENERALLY means there is a noticeable texture to the surface; a scratchy surface, like it was worked over with a wire brush. "Satin" just refers to anything that isn't POLISHED; it just has a satiny, matte finish.

I'd say this piece is a little more towards the SATIN side of things, although mine seems to have a clearcoat on it, so it has a little gloss to it.

STOP THE PRESSES!

Before launching this GB, I called around to see who had these in stock. Last week, Carl at George Evans Ford Racing said he could get me at least ten knobs. I called him today to see if he could get me twenty knobs. He called up Roush and then told me he cannot get any knobs. Unless I can find another supplier, I will start refunding people for the shift knobs on Monday.

The pedals are from a different dealer, who just confirmed that he has at least thirty sets in stock. He also said they should have some sets for the ATX, which would be sweet. I'm having him check the stock room before I open the pedal GB up for ATX owners.

gamiller

The Focus knobs are *really* hard to find. I'm asking around now.

We can get Roush Mustang knobs, but they have this shaft on the ball which would prevent the reverse lockout from working. Plus I dunno how safe it would be if it's an inch taller than stock. I already bash my knuckles against the dash when i shift into third with my Steeda shifter. This knob may prevent me from getting into gear. But not everybody is using the Steeda shifter. YMMV.

I just placed an order through Andy's Autosport as well. I'm crossing my fingers that they still have some.

Guys, if they don't have them in stock, they cannot get them. I'm afraid that Andy's is just taking your money and sitting on it, only to later tell you they cannot get them.

FYI, I am purchasing Voodoo knobs at a good price - cheaper than the Voodoo GB. LMK if Andy's is unable to pull through for you.
