Anyone know of any good tuners in GA? I need someone who can help me with the Black car.
Nemesis - Who did you have tuning your car? Do you even have a tuner?

Pardon the trolling, but I seem to remember George talking about BATLground alot when he was building the Coug. I know the dyno vid of his was taken there (I have it on my computer).

I also remember him preaching about BATLground and I could simply call him and ask what he thought and maybe he could give me a name but he doesn't always answer his phone. Then I thought, maybe someone else knew of any places around here just so I could have options.
I guess I'll check them out and see what they have to say, of course I do need to be able to get the car to them first but that will come very soon
Thanks guys

Call BatlGround, and speak with Matt Ball. Dan did all my tuning on the Cougar....hes a freaking genious. Seriously I wouldnt trust anyone else. Mainstream is primarily Hondas.

There are some other options as well that I looked into:
Balanced Performance Motorsports: Your Neighborhood Service Center (http://www.balancedperformance.com/performance.html) has been in business for decades and has a good rep. In addition to tuning, they will install aftermarket parts and do regular maintenance. They are experts with Mazdas. I almost went there when I was having tuning trouble, but then I discovered that my CAI was causing my problems.
There was a place called Hypnotic Illusions specializing in the Focus. They tuned with the XCal, but the business went belly up. Dunno if you could track down Wayne and negotiate a deal.
Frankly, it was hard to find a tuner in Atlanta. The best shops were hours away. Why not get a tune from Nautilus?

Balanced Performance ****ed me over big time. I went to them a long time ago.... Id hate to see your motor pop :)
The top shops in Atlanta are TopSpeed and BatlGround.. They are known nationwide. and they are about 15-20 minutes from Atlanta. Do some research and youll see what Im talking about. Google their names and see their accomplishments.
Both Top Speed and BatlGround are known in the EVO/Subaru/Supra/etc community.

I think BatlGround is who I'm going to speak to first. They're like 5-10mins from where I work and I drove by on Friday to see where they are. I did look them up and googled their name. They seem to have a pretty good rep and I know they worked on your Cougar so they have at least some experience with the car.
I think I'm going to go by and tell them what I've got, what I want to do and then get their opinion.

Would they do a tune for a SC'er? I'd also have to get an Xcal, which I was planning on eventually, but I'd have to do it relatively soon.
I'm really worried more about the overheating than anything but I think we can take care of that pretty quickly.

:rofl:You reallllllly dont wanna do that, TRUST ME!!!!!
My black csvt is tuned by Bamachips, Doug did a great job and gained me 6hp and 8tq over hypill's tune. My silver one is tuned and has the prp, but will get re-tuned in October by Joey at Nautilus.

So it sounds like I need to speak with someone from Nautilus when I'm ready for my tune then huh? They seem to be the place to go.

Well, for the money and the expertise on Contours/Cougars, I would go to Nautilus regardless of what power-adder I had installed.
If you think an import tuner (i.e. BATLGROUND) will treat your Ford with TLC, then by all means, try them. I have not doubt they are great with Japanese makes, but - personally - I would hesitate to take a Ford there unless the manager/owner told me they 1) had the various Ford MAF transfer functions, and 2) could name customers with Fords they had done previously.
