View Full Version : What OIL should I get?

I am getting an oil change tomorrow to get ready for the long drive to az and i was wondering which oil would be best for the long haul....i obviously know i need a thicker oil then used in this area but i need some input on a good oil one specifically used in az. thanks...

I just use the 5W-30 thats recommended for our cars anyways. :shrug:
Motorcraft 5W20 synthetic blend with a Motorcraft FL820s filter is both good and very inexpensive!

cool well in the east atleast the buffalo area where i used to live we had to use 10w 40 cause of the cold....and i knew the heat was a different story so i figured i'd ask the desert guys.

Actually you're supposed to use a thinner oil for cold temperatures. Its easier on your car when trying to start it. I would DEFINITELY get that 10W-40 out of there ASAP.

I've been running Mobile1 0-40 for about 7 years.. or 5 years in this car. I'm not nice to my cars either.

in the turbo and the csvt I use mobil one oil/5 w30 and use motorcraft filters.

I'm talking about the fact that George bumped a 3 month old thread in a different chapter to post a sarcastic response.
If you're getting your tampon in a twist over an old thread getting bumped, maybe you need to rethink your life prioirities.
